Corona Cases Increasing in Countries that have Vaccinated Half the Population

New cases of coronavirus have started increasing again in different countries around the world. It is a matter of concern that there are many countries in which more than half of the population has been vaccinated. Some countries have put brakes on their efforts to unlock and have started imposing tough restrictions again. Vaccine companies like Pfizer, Moderna are also preparing for booster dose after two doses.

At the same time, in India, only 5% of the population has taken both doses, but negligence has also increased manifold. Many hill stations of Uttarakhand and Himachal have to take strict measures after the crowd gathered. Experts say that if measures are not taken to stop Kovid-19 and the crowd continues to look like this, then the third wave of corona may come prematurely.

UK: 30 thousand cases are coming daily before unlock

The Academy of Medical Royal College (AMRC) has warned that if the lockdown is relaxed, the situation will worsen instead of improving.

Israel vaccinated its population the fastest. There, 60% of the population has been given both doses and 66% of the population has been given at least one dose. When this figure reached 50%, the freedom to wear masks was given. But now the cases have started increasing again. After this, Israel changed the strategy and decided to quarantine the travelers coming from countries with high infection rates. Spain: youth population most affected

In Spain, about 45% of the population has been given both doses. At the same time, 59% of the population has taken at least one dose. Even after this, the positivity rate doubled last week. The highest number of cases were found in young people aged 20 to 29 who have not been vaccinated. The report of 911 youth out of every 1 lakh youth is coming positive. Along with this, new cases are increasing continuously in many countries of the European Union. In Italy, 37 people died of corona on Friday and Saturday. In the last one week, positive cases have increased from 9 to 11 for every 1 lakh tests.

America: Delta variant added to the trouble; 19 thousand new cases daily

About 49% of the US population has been fully vaccinated, while 77% of the population has received at least one dose. Even after this, corona cases have started increasing in half the states. In the last week, an average of 19 thousand new cases have been reported every day. The maximum number of new cases have been found in California, Texas, New York and Florida. The delta variant of the corona is being cited as the reason for 80% of the new cases.

38 crore doses in India till now

Till July 11, 37.73 crore people in India have received at least one dose of the vaccine. In terms of population, it is 22 percent. At the same time, only 5 percent of the population has received both doses of the vaccine. About 35 lakh doses are being administered every day. Even if vaccination continues in the country at the same rate, it will take months for India to vaccinate half of its population. Talking about positive cases, even now on an average more than 40 thousand cases are being received daily. Of these, 50% of new cases are coming up in Kerala and Maharashtra.

Why are new cases of corona increasing even after vaccination?

According to WHO Chief Scientist Soumya Swaminathan, these are the reasons for increasing new cases-

• New variants of Corona: Other variants including the Delta of Corona have increased the problem. The Delta variant has spread to over 100 countries. 80% of new cases in the US are from Delta. Also, the Lambda variant has also reached 31 countries. Studies have shown that the new variants are more contagious than the original strain and also reduce the effectiveness of the vaccine.
• Relaxation in lockdown: In countries where vaccination has crossed the 50% mark, governments are easing the lockdown. As a result, people are being careless and giving the virus a chance to spread. After the election in Israel, matters started increasing. Nightclubs have opened in many countries of Europe. Public events have started. Sporting events like Euro Cup are also believed to be the reason behind the increasing cases of corona in Europe.
• Slow pace of vaccination: In many countries, the slow pace of vaccination is also bringing new cases to the fore. Cases are increasing continuously in countries like Russia, Mexico, Australia, Indonesia, South Korea. The situation in Indonesia is so bad that it has to ask for help from other countries for oxygen. In Mexico, infection has increased by 29% in a week. 23% beds of hospitals are filled with corona patients. Lockdown has been imposed again in the capital Sydney after the cases of the Delta variant increased in Australia.

Will you need a booster dose of the vaccine?

• Pfizer CEO Albert Borla has said that a third booster dose may be needed 6 to 12 months after both doses of the vaccine. Pfizer is expected to apply for a third booster dose to the US and the European Union within a few weeks.
• According to Dr. Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Adviser to the US President, it is difficult to say anything at the moment on the booster dose of the vaccine. After the results of the studies, Americans may be given a third booster dose.
• It is currently being considered in many countries, but Israel has made preparations to give a third booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine. These doses will be given to youth with weak immunity. Israel says that out of all the corona patients admitted to the hospital at present, half of them have taken both doses.
• However, different studies are going on on this matter. It has been revealed in several studies that the effectiveness of the vaccine against the new variant is low. The vaccine is producing fewer antibodies and in such a situation, a booster dose may be an option to increase the number of antibodies.
