The first-of-its-kind case of a changing variant of the coronavirus has been reported in Belgium. Here a 90-year-old elderly Belgian woman got infected with not one but two different variants of corona simultaneously and the woman lost her life. The investigation found that the woman was infected with both alpha and beta variants of the corona. This matter has raised the concern of researchers.

Belgian woman was infected with Alpha and Beta

The woman was living alone in the house for a long time. The woman had not yet got the anti-corona vaccine. In the past, due to deteriorating health, she was admitted to OLV Hospital in Aalst city of Belgium and on the same day, the corona test report of the woman also came positive.

Initially, the woman's oxygen level was good, but her health deteriorated rapidly and the woman died within just five days. When the experts started investigating the woman's corona report, it was found that the woman also had an alpha strain of corona. , which was first found in the UK and also the beta variant, which was first detected in South Africa.

A molecular biologist at the hospital and head of the research team, Anne Venkierbergen, said that at the time the woman was infected, both these variants were spreading in Belgium, so it is feared that the woman may have got different variants from two people. However, it is not yet known how she got infected. Efforts are being made to find out how many people had met the woman. Recently and who had come home to meet the woman.
