The president of Pakistan National Assembly Asad Qaiser, has been found infected with the corona virus. With this, the authorities have announced 990 new cases of Covid-19 in the country. The National Health Service Ministry said on Friday that 24 people have died due to this infection in the last 24 hours and with this the number of people who lost their lives so far in the country has increased to 385.

He said that 990 new cases of infection were reported during this period, which the highest number of people is found infected in a single day. The total number of people affected by this virus in the country has increased to 16,817. Qaiser is the second top leader found to be infected and a member of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party. Earlier, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail was found infected with the Corona virus. The Express Tribune quoted Qaiser's brother Abdul Wahid as saying that the chairman's son and daughter have also been found infected and are living separately. Earlier two of Qaiser's relatives were also found infected with the corona virus. According to the news, Qaiser conducted Iftar at his residence on Monday in violation of the government's social distance guidelines. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan's advisor on health Zafar Mirza said on Thursday that the country may witness the worst phase of the global pandemic till late May or mid-June.

The Ministry of Health said that so far a total of 4,315 people have recovered from the disease. Sindh's Education Minister Saeed Ghani was the first leader of the country to be found infected with the Corona virus in late March, while he has recovered from this disease. Prime Minister Khan was not found infected with the virus during the investigation last week.
