To prevent the spread of corona infection, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) of Gujarat has made the names and addresses of all 36 corona infected in the city public. Ahmedabad is one of the 10 places identified by the central government across the country where corona infection is spreading rapidly.
Officials said the names of 29 corona infected were public by the AMC on Thursday, while the names of seven were released on Friday. A total of 38 people in the district were found to be corona infected, where 36 are residents of Ahmedabad city. Officials said that those who came in contact with the patients would be able to come forward after the names of the Corona infected.
Love Aggarwal, joint secretary in the Union Health Ministry, said that 647 corona-positive cases in 14 states are related to the Tablighi Jamaat. These cases have been reported from Andaman and Nicobar to Assam, Delhi, Himachal, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh. On Friday, a total of 259 new cases were reported in just seven states – Tamil Nadu, Karnataka Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Assam and Punjab, where 237 cases are related to the Tablighi Jamaat.
AMC health officer Bhavin Solanki said, 'This initiative will help to prevent the spread of corona infection. We are searching for people exposed to corona infection. Once the names and addresses of the infected are investigated, then we will start their treatments. This will help in controlling the epidemic.
