Covid-19: Lockdown is the only Way to Save the Country

A 40-year-old coronavirus (COVID-19) patient has died in Mumbai.  The woman was admitted to the hospital yesterday.  This is the seventh virus-related death in Maharashtra. Several Delhi government schools are being converted into temporary shelter homes to migrant workers amid nationwide lockdown.

Lockdown to the country by the Government of India was taken on the advice of the Ministry of Health, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and World Health Organization.  This was the only way to save the country from the outbreak of Coronavirus.  There is also a scientific basis behind the 21-day time period.  Actually most viruses have a life cycle.  When the flu spreads, nobody dies.  If the medicine is taken then it will be fine in 7 days and if not taken it will be cured in a week.  This is because the life cycle of the virus will automatically leave the body in a week.  If it does not find suitable conditions in the external environment for multiplication.

If we had reached the third phase (which should have been reached normally in the fifth week), the number of infected people would have been more than 10 times, while the number of infected people has increased more than two times.  This is the biggest benefit of lockdown.  The 21-day lockdown deadline was set so that a person who has become infected will be free of infection in 14 days, while those who have been exposed to infected people will also have symptoms in 7 days.  In 14 and 7 days i.e. 21 days, it will be clear how many people are infected.

Stringent steps have been taken to prevent community transmission.  Not every person should follow the rules.  People are also skeptical about the limited medical facilities in our country that we will be able to cope with this epidemic with our limited resources.  It is true that we do not have as much resources as China, Europe and America.  So from lockdown, we will be able to reduce the speed of spread of coronavirus, which will not put pressure on the health services simultaneously.
