The World Health Organization has expressed its concern about the increasing number of cases of Covid 19 in children. WHO said that the highest number of corona cases are being found in children between the age of 5 to 14 in Europe.

Regional Director of WHO Europe Dr. Hans Kluge said that the deaths from corona are much less than before and also said that vaccines of corona are the last resort.

Coronavirus spread from 53 countries to Central Asia

However, Dr. Hans said that in the last two months, the cases and deaths of the coronavirus spread from 53 countries to Central Asia have more than doubled. He also mentioned about the most dangerous variant Delta. The delta variant is dominant across Europe and Central Asia, and we know that COVID vaccines are effective in reducing serious illness and deaths.

At the WHO Europe headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, he said that it remains to be seen how serious the new variant of the corona, Omicron, will be. The Omicron variant is responsible for 432 cases in 21 countries in the region so far.

Protect children

Dr. Kluge urged European countries to protect children and to close all the schools amid a rapid rise in cases among young people. He said that in some places the rate of corona infection among young children was two to three times higher than the average population, which is dangerous.

Children tend to suffer less severe cases than older people, health care workers, and those with weakened immune systems. The need to admit children to hospitals was also mostly not felt. Dr. Hans warned that if immediate preventive measures are not adopted, there could be many more deaths due to the infection.

On the one hand, while the threat is increasing in the country and the world regarding the new variant of Corona, Omicron, experts believe that this Omicron variant can become a new problem in the new year. During a conversation, the head of Medanta Hospital, Dr. Naresh Trehan, has expressed apprehension about this.

Let us inform you that about 20-25 cases of Omicron variant have already been reported in the country. The capital Delhi is no longer untouched by it. This is the reason why the central government is also very serious about this and is taking all kinds of precautionary steps.
