Omicron Variant reaches UP, Two Infected Found in Ghaziabad

In Uttar Pradesh too, the Omicron variant of the coronavirus has been knocked. Two patients infected with the Omicron variant have been found in Ghaziabad, adjacent to Delhi. It is being told that both of them who have been found infected are husband and wife. Both have returned to Ghaziabad after travelling from Maharashtra. According to the information received, so far samples of 89 people who have returned from Omicron affected states and abroad have been sent for genome sequencing, out of which 46 samples have been reported. Two of these people were found infected with Omicron. At the same time, as soon as this information is received by the Health Department, it has also become fully alert. The department has appealed to the people that they must wear masks and follow the rule of a physical distance of two yards.
According to Amit Mohan Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health, two patients have been found in Ghaziabad, after which instructions have been given to speed up the corona investigation. Corona test is also being done for the people who came in contact with both the patients. Along with this, strictness has already been increased at airports, railways and bus stations. People coming from outside are being investigated. The samples of those who are found infected in this are being sent for genome sequencing.

According to State Surveillance Officer Dr. Vikasendu Agrawal, special attention is being kept on people coming from Omicron affected states and other countries. All 80 thousand monitoring committees have been alerted. These committees are monitoring the people coming from outside in their area.
According to the information received, so far samples of 89 people have been sent for genome sequencing in three phases in the state. In the first phase, in the investigation of 22 samples, the delta variant was found in 21 samples. Now the report of 24 samples sent in the second phase has come. In this, the Omicron variant has been confirmed in two people. The results of 43 samples are yet to come.

If there is a complaint of extreme fatigue, mild pain in muscles, sore throat, dry cough and fever, then a corona test should be done immediately. If the report is positive, then with the help of genome sequencing, the Omicron variant will be detected.
