Be Alert: Country will reach 10 Lakh Corona Cases Daily, Says Study

The new Corona variant, Omicron, has sparked widespread outrage around the world. The third wave of Coronavirus has arrived in India as a result of Omicron. According to experts, the third wave will peak in January. That is, this month, the maximum number of corona cases can be reported in a single day. According to the Indian Institute of Science and (IISc) and Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Bangalore, 10 lakh cases will arrive every day in the last week of January. Let us tell you that on Friday, more than 1 lakh corona cases were received in a single day.

This research was carried out by a team led by Professor Shiv Athreya, Professor Rajesh Sundaresan, IISc, and ISI Bangalore. According to the study, most cases of corona will occur in the last week of January, with the effects visible in February. However, different states will have different peaks. The majority of corona cases will be seen between mid-January and the second week of February. In addition, corona cases will begin to decline at the beginning of March.

Study of different States

According to the study's model, the peak in Delhi could occur in the middle of January or in the third week. It will be in the last week of January or the first week of February in Tamil Nadu. This estimate was created with the previous infection and vaccination in mind. The model assumed that 30 percent, 60 percent, or 100 percent of the population is vulnerable. During the peak, the number of daily cases in India could be around 3 lakh, 6 lakh, or 10 lakh, depending on the percentage of people who are vulnerable to the virus.

According to a similar study conducted by researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in India may peak by February 3. Last month, the National Covid-19 Supermodel Committee predicted that the third wave of coronavirus would hit India in February.

Tracker Covid-19 India, a tracker developed by University of Cambridge researchers, predicts that new infections will begin to rise in the last week of December.
