DDMA took a big decision on Tuesday in light of the increasing cases of corona in the National capital, Delhi. DDMA has said in its order that all private offices in Delhi will remain closed. Only offices providing essential services will be allowed to open. Both restaurants and bars will remain closed. Only the option of home delivery will be available from restaurants. Private offices have been asked to conduct work from home. The DDMA has decided to tighten the restrictions after the number of corona infections in Delhi increased exponentially. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is going to hold a press conference on the situation of Corona this afternoon. The CM will also visit hospitals in Delhi.

The figures of Corona in Delhi are concerning. A frightening figure has been registered on the deaths on account of Covid in Delhi. Between January 5 and 9, 46 people died of corona in Delhi, in the analysis of the Delhi Health Department, it has come to the fore that vaccinated people are at a lower risk of death. Among the dead, 76 percent are people who did not get vaccinated, while 11 people who died had taken the vaccine, 34 of whom were seriously ill. Among the dead, 14 were between 41 years and 60 years and five were in the age group of 21 to 40.

In the order issued by DGHS, it has been informed that 70 patients of corona have died in hospitals in the last 10 days since the end of December. Most of the people who died were suffering from serious diseases of heart and liver and cancer. All MDs of Delhi hospitals have been directed to give priority to the admission, treatment, care of critical patients and analyze the deaths in hospitals. Those who have serious diseases and are corona infected should be given special care and should be kept under the supervision of experts as per the need. On January 9, 1912, Covid patients were admitted to Delhi hospitals and 17 of them died.

In the coming times, if people need to be hospitalized due to corona, then the Delhi government is prepairing well in advance. Delhi Government is arranging extra beds in hospitals. About five thousand beds are available in the institutional isolation centres set up for COVID-19 patients. The Delhi government is increasing the facility of home isolation.

Prisoners also got infected in jail

According to the Delhi government, out of 5,539 beds in hospitals reserved for Covid patients, only 561 are occupied. Centres located in Shahdara, Northeast, West and North Delhi do not have any beds. The Delhi government says that in this wave of the epidemic, most cases have mild symptoms or no symptoms and patients do not need to be hospitalised. Meanwhile, 66 prisoners and 48 employees in three jails of Delhi have been found infected with the virus. According to jail officials, of the 66 inmates found infected till Monday, 42 are from Tihar and 24 from Mandoli jail. Of the 48 employees found infected, 34 are from Tihar, eight from Mandoli Jail and six from Rohini Jail.
