Coronavirus pandemic continues wreaking havoc worldwide. According to worldometer.com, 194,176,010 cases have been reported so far. Of these, 176,244,300 people have recovered, while 4,163,041 people have died.

Thousands of people protested on the streets of Sydney and other Australian cities to protest against lockdown restrictions. Two shots of Pfizer, AstraZeneca vaccines effective against Delta variant: Study

Two doses of Pfizer or AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine are as effective against the highly transmissible Delta coronavirus variant as they are against the alpha variant, according to a study published on Wednesday. Officials say the Pfizer vaccine is highly effective against the delta variant. However, the study reiterated that a single dose of vaccines is not sufficient for high protection.

More than 39,00 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 39,097 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 3,13,32,159. With 546 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 4,20,016.

The country also witnessed 35,087 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,05,03,166. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 97.35 %. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.34 %. Meanwhile, the number of active cases in the country stands at 4,08,977. The active cases rate in India stands at 1.31 %.
