Coronavirus pandemic continues wreaking havoc worldwide. According to worldometer.com, 177,085,972 cases of coronavirus have been reported so far. Of these, 161,294,703 people have recovered, while 3,829,037 people have died.

British PM Boris Johnson delays easing of Covid restrictions to 19 July:

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Monday delayed his plans of easing the final stage of lockdown restrictions by a month. The decision was taken in view to contain the highly transmissible Delta variant and announcing plans to use the extra time to speed up vaccination. He said, "I think it is sensible to wait just a little longer. The removal of restrictions would now take place on 19 July, instead of 21 June as previously hoped."

Israel drops indoor mask mandate as daily COVID cases decline:

Israel on Tuesday announced that the mandate to enforce the wearing of face masks indoors will be lifted from June 15 onwards, as the coronavirus cases in the country are decreasing. However, people will still require to wear masks while traveling by plane and in quarantine.

At the same time, those who have not yet been vaccinated will be required to wear masks in nursing homes and hospitals. Israel has vaccinated about 85% of its adult population. As a result, it has been able to fully reopen schools and businesses. In this country with a population of 90 lakhs, the number of active cases has remained only a few dozen. However, the officials are very cautious about the tourists.

More than 60,000 cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 60,471 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,95,70,881. With 2726 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,77,031.

The country also witnessed 1,17,525 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,82,80,472. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 95.64%. On the other hand, India's mortality rate stands at 1.28%.
