Coronavirus pandemic continues wreaking havoc worldwide. According to worldometer.com, 169,710,788 cases of coronavirus have been reported so far. Of these, 151,448,214 people have been cured, while 3,527,082 people have died.

France reimposes strict Covid restrictions on travel from UK:

France has decided to re-enforce strict COVID-19 restrictions on arrivals from the UK who are not French residents to curb the spread of the virus. The restrictions extended for passengers arriving from the UK from 31 May. Seven-day isolation and Covid negative report is a must for those arriving in France from Britain.

According to media reports, all travelers arriving from the UK will now have to show the COVID-19 Negative Report up to 48 hours in advance and will have to isolate for a week.

More than 1.84 lakh cases reported in India:

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 1,86,364 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,75,55,457. With 3,660 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 3,18,895.

The country also witnessed 2,59,459 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,48,93,410. With this, the country's recovery rate has increased to 90.34%.

Global Supply of COVAX hit due to COVID-19 crises in India: USAID

Due to the unprecedented surge in COVID-19 cases in India, the global supply of COVAX has been badly hit so much that in many parts of the world where one shot has been administered to health workers or frontline workers and the second shot has not been forthcoming. This statement was given by the top official of the Biden administration to lawmakers on Thursday. "COVAX has suffered a big blow given the scale of the pandemic in India," said Samantha Power, administrator of USAID, the US agency for international development.
