Coronavirus: With Surge of 2.76 Lakh Cases, India’s Total Tally Surpasses 2.57 Cr

India has been witnessing a gradual decrease in daily coronavirus cases. According to the latest data from the Union Health Ministry, India reported 2,76,070 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative count of the cases to 2,57,72,400. With 3,874 deaths in the last 24 hours, the death toll has increased to 2,87,122.

The country also witnessed 3,69,077 recoveries in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative recoveries to 2,23,55,440. The total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered stand at over 18,70,09,792 crore, informed the health ministry.

Decline in active cases continue:

There has been a steady decline in active cases of coronavirus in the country. According to the latest data of the Union Health Ministry, in the last 24 hours, the active cases in the country have been reduced by 96841. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 20,55,010 samples were tested across the country on Wednesday. Meanwhile, a total of 32,23,56,187 samples have been tested so far till May 19.

Maharashtra: 34,031 cases reported

On Thursday, the state reported 34,031 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 51,457 patients recovered and 594 died. So far, 54.67 lakh people have been affected by the epidemic in the state. Of these, 49.78 lakh people have recovered, while 84,371 have died. Currently, there are about 4.01 lakh people, who are undergoing treatment.

Delhi: Over 3,000 cases reported in the last 24 hours

On Thursday, 3,846 coronavirus cases reported in the state. Meanwhile, 9,427 people recovered and 235 died. So far, 14.06 lakh people have been infected here. Of these, 13.39 lakh have cured, while 22,346 patients lost their lives. Currently, there are 45,047 patients who are undergoing treatment.
