Indian Biscuit brand Parle will distribute 30 million packets of Parle G in the next three weeks. The company said that it will distribute these packets through government agencies. The company will provide biscuits exclusively to needy people. The company has announced this amid the announcement of a 21-day lockdown across the country. The company said that only 50 percent of people are working in its factories but the company is engaged in ensuring that its products do not fall short in the market.
Mayank Shah, the senior officer of Parle Products, informed, “We have decided to work together with the government. We will distribute 30 million packets of biscuits through government agencies – 10 million packets every week for the next three weeks – especially for the needy people. We are trying to find out who needs to eat now, the livelihood of many people will be affected. We will try to ensure with the government that they do not starve. ”
Shah said that due to the lockdown, people are making huge purchases and collecting goods near them. People are going out and trying to buy whatever is available to eat and drink. People are also buying biscuits on a large scale.
He said that the government has kept the biscuit making companies out of lockdown. Despite this, the company is facing problems in some areas because the local authorities are not allowing the transportation of raw materials and finished goods.
