Coronavirus may Impact ICC T20 World Cup: Michael Vaughan

The number of people infected with the coronavirus is continuously increasing in the whole world. Given the growing threat of Corona, major tournaments are being postponed one after another. It was also decided to postpone the Tokyo Olympics for one year. Former England captain Michael Vaughan has expressed apprehension over the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year.

The ICC T20 World Cup is to be held in Australia in October. On Thursday itself, the ICC has announced that all the qualifying tournaments will be postponed till 30 June. The former English captain has expressed doubts over the T20 World Cup to be held between October 18 and November 15.

Michael Vaughan said on Thursday, 'The most important thing right now is that when we talk about the game, it is more important than what is happening with people all over the world at the moment. The game comes second after all this stuff. You can expect everything to be good but then you don't know anything about it. These are very difficult now and the advice we get is changing every day. A week ago we were thinking of it as a bad effect of flu. A few days later, the reality for some of us was seen to get worse and now the situation has worsened.'
