Coronavirus in India: 1911 Cases Increased in 12 Hours, 1009 Cases Increased in Maharashtra Alone

To prevent the spread of corona virus, the central government has decided to extend the lockdown to 2 weeks with some relaxation. Perhaps the reason behind this decision is the constant increasing corona virus cases in the country. On Saturday also, there has been a sharp rise in the cases of corona virus in the country. According to the Union Health Ministry, during the last 12 hours, a total of 1911 new Corona cases have been reported in the country and out of these 1008 cases are from Maharashtra alone. Apart from Maharashtra, 223 new cases have increased in Delhi and 326 new cases have been reported in Gujarat.

After the new corona virus cases that have surfaced across the country, by Saturday morning, the number of total corona virus cases across the country has increased to 37336. Although there are 9951 people in this figure who have completely recovered, but 1218 people have lost their lives across the country.

Among the states where corona virus cases have been reported in the entire country, Maharashtra is at the first place, where 11506 cases have been reported so far and 485 people have lost their lives. After Maharashtra, Gujarat is at number two, where 4721 cases have been reported so far and 236 people have died, followed by Delhi where 3738 cases have been reported so far and 61 people have lost their lives. After Delhi, 2719 cases have been reported in Madhya Pradesh, 2666 in Rajasthan, 2526 in Tamil Nadu and 2328 in Uttar Pradesh.

The number of people who have been completely cured by defeating the corona virus across the country has also started increasing rapidly, which is a relief, around 9951 people have been cured all over the country and 1879 people are highest in Maharashtra, 1312 in Tamil Nadu, 1116 people have recovered in Rajasthan and 1167 in Delhi.

Given the pace with which the cases of corona virus have increased across the country, the central government has decided to extend the lockdown period to May 17. Although this time the districts of the country are divided into Green, Orange and Red zones and the Green Zone will be relaxed somewhat by the rules of lockdown, Orange Zone will be less relaxed than the Green Zone and very little has been relaxed in the Red Zone. All the hotspots of the corona virus across the country will not be eased.

Talking about cases of corona virus in the whole world, the figure of 34 lakhs has been crossed so far and about one third of it i.e. 11.31 lakh cases are from the US alone. More cases outside US are in countries of Europe. Around 1.40 lakh people have lost their lives due to the corona virus worldwide, of which more than 65000 people have died in America and more than 1.40 lakh people in Europe. However, there are about 10.81 lakh people all over the world who have completely recovered after defeating the corona virus.
