Former Indian cricketer and BJP MP Gautam Gambhir has announced his support to the government fight against coronavirus. Gambhir pledge on Thursday that he will donate his 2 years' salary to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund).

India is currently struggling to control the ever-increasing number of patients infected with the coronavirus. The number of people infected with corona in India has reached close to two thousand. The government has declared a 21-day lockdown across the country. In this difficult time, all the celebrities of India are donating their help.

Gambhir announced this on Twitter, writing, "People ask what can their country do for them. The real question is what can you do for your country? I am donating my 2 year's salary to #PMCaresFund. You should come forward too!"

Gautam Gambhir has already given his help. He gave Rs 50 lakh to the Delhi government from his MP fund. He then deposited one crore rupees under the MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) in the Prime Minister Relief Fund to fight against the coronavirus.
