Coronavirus: Cristiano Ronaldo Decides to Donate Half of the Bonus Received from Euro 2020 Qualification

Portugal's star footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has once again come forward to help people infected by the Coronavirus. Ronaldo and his teammates from Portugal have decided to donate half of the bonus they receive when they qualify for the Euro 2020 finals to help the country's badly-hit amateur football.

The Portugal Football Federation said on Monday that the money would be given to help the amateur clubs. It is expected to reach US $ 5.1 million (Rs 39 crore) in funds raised for this. The federation decided to end the amateur session already suspended last week with immediate effect. No decision has been made on the return of professional football but the federation president said in March that he was committed to completing the season.

Portugal won the title by defeating host France at Euro 2016 but Ronaldo and his teammates will have to wait until next year to defend their title as the tournament has been postponed until 2021 due to the Coronavirus epidemic.

Right now the whole world is affected due to Coronavirus infection. All the football players are sitting at home. Lockdown has been declared in almost every country in the world. Players have been instructed to stay safe at home. During this period, Physio of every team has sent players to practice routine to keep them fit.
