Conspiracy to Raise Parliament Session: Mulayam Singh Yadav

Samajwadi Party's senior leader Mulayam Singh Yadav questioned the Lok Sabha on Thursday to increase the duration of the current session of Parliament. They alleged that there is a conspiracy of the government in it. However, the government dismissed the charge and clarified that the session was extended due to all legislative work.

While discussing the amendment of the Bankruptcy Act in the Lok Sabha, Yadav raised the question about extension of session. He said, "Lok Sabha is ideal for the assemblies of the country but there are not many members present in the house … people are not able to go to marriage. The government is conspiring behind the operation of the house. Public money is being wasted..If there is a good reason, please tell me. ' Congress leaders and the sitting Trinamool Congress supporter Saugata Roy supported Yadav's remarks.

Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal said that there are enough members in the House. He said, "Mulayam Singh Yadav is a senior member, but we do not agree with him. There are several important legislative works, which will benefit the general public. The opposition has also been demanding that the work in Parliament should have been at least 100 days in a year.

The first session of the 17th Lok Sabha was started on June 17 with the oath of acceptance of new members. It was to end on 26th July, but its period has been extended till August 7.
