The police on Tuesday arrested Karan Morwal, the absconding son of Congress MLA from Ujjain district, Murli Morwal, in connection with the alleged rape of a woman leader in Madhya Pradesh. According to the police, the accused of raping the woman leader on the pretext of marriage. He was absconding for the last 6.5 months and a reward of Rs 25,000 was announced for his arrest.

Case of rape registered against Karan

Jyoti Sharma, in charge of Mahila Police Station, said that Karan was caught near Maksi, about 80 km from Indore. He told that after the arrest of Karan, the further legal process is being completed. However, officials said that a case of rape was registered against Karan in Indore's Mahila Police Station on April 2.

The woman leader who filed the case alleges that the MLA's 30-year-old son raped her on the pretext of marriage. Police searching for Karan had on October 19 brought his younger brother Shivam to the Women's Police Station in Indore. However, he was brought for questioning as investigators thought they knew where the rape accused was hiding.

Congress MLA had a secret discussion with the police officers 

In a dramatic development amid police interrogation of his younger son Shivam, Congress MLA from Badnagar area of ​​Ujjain Murli Morwal reached Palasia police station adjacent to the Mahila police station in Indore on October 19. He had a secret discussion with the police officers in a closed room.

After the discussion, as soon as the MLA came out of the Palasia police station, the media questioned him about the absconding of his elder son Karan for six and a half months. However, he left the police station immediately saying that he does not have to present his side in front of the media.
