Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) raided the house of comedian Bharti Singh and her husband Harsh Limbachiya on Saturday. There is news of hemp being recovered from her house.
Bharti is a well-known name in the television industry. She was ranked 82 in the Forbes highest-grossing stars list in 2019. Bharti Singh’s annual average earnings are Rs 10.93 crore.
Currently, she is seen anchoring in ‘India’s Best Dancer’ with husband Harsh. Apart from this, Bharti is also seen in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
The role of ‘Lalli’ was popular
Bharti’s real identity came from the fourth season of the comedy reality show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ (2008). She was the second runner up in the finals of the show. In this show, she played a character named ‘Lalli’. This character was well liked by the audience.
Apart from ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ (2008), she also appeared in comedy reality shows like ‘Comedy Circus Superstars’ (2010), ‘Comedy Circus Ke Tansen’ (2011) and ‘Comedy Circus Ke Ajube’ (2012). She has done ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ and ‘Comedy Nights Live’ with Krushna Abhishek on TV.
Bharti has also worked in Punjabi films ‘Ek Noor’ (2011), ‘Yamla Jatt Yamla’ (2012) and ‘Jat and Juliet-2’ (2013). She also worked in Akshay’s film ‘Khiladi 786’ (2012) and in Pulkit and Yami’s film ‘Sanam Re’ in 2016.
Childhood was full of poverty
Bharti’s childhood was spent in extreme poverty. In an interview, Bharti said, “I belong to a middle class family and we are three siblings. My mother got married at the age of 17 and you wouldn’t believe that until the age of 23, she was a mother of three.
“I lost my father at the age of 2. So, I have no memory of him. The mother chose the path of struggle for us instead of marrying again. Most of my childhood was spent in poverty. Older siblings spent day and night in gathering food and protecting us. Sometimes, we had to sleep without eating anything.”
Talking about Bharti’s family, her brother Dheeraj Singh runs a general store in Amritsar. While elder sister Pinky Rajput has settled in Amritsar itself.
Bharti married Harsh
Bharti married writer Harsh Limbachiya in 2017. Bharti is 7 years older than Harsh. The two chose each other as their partners after dating for almost 7 years. Harsh wrote the dialogues for ‘PM Narendra Modi biopic’. Apart from this, he also wrote the title track of the film ‘Malang’.
