CM Yogi Dismissed Two PCS Officers for Commenting Against Government

The government has dismissed two PCS officers from service. These days, the attitude of CM Yogi Adityanath is very harsh on the government employees who have raised their finger on the government.

One of the two PCS officers who have been sacked on the instructions of Yogi Adityanath is Ashok Kumar Shukla, who was currently posted as Special Officer (OSD) in the Revenue Council. Shukla has been sacked in the case of registering the land of village society as Bhoomdhari during her post as Deputy District Magistrate in Hardoi and making adverse comments on Facebook against the government while being the SDM in Amethi.

The other PCS officer is Ashok Kumar Lal, who was arrested by the CBI for taking bribe in 2015 on a deputation to Noida-based Gas Authority of India (GAIL). He was suspended since then. He has been sacked against the two officers after the consent of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.

Ashok Kumar Shukla, while holding the post of Deputy District Magistrate in Shahabad Tehsil of Hardoi, on May 5, 2016, while hearing a revenue suit, inscribed 1.227 hectares of barren land of Mansuranagar Gram Sabha as a landowner named Hamidullah of Mohsinpurwa village of this tehsil. The order was passed. On receiving the complaint, DM Hardoi investigated the case in which it was found that Shukla fraudulently transferred government land to Hamidullah.

While posted as SDM in Amethi, on 5 February 2018, Shukla made unfavorable comments on the functioning of the government on his Facebook ID. This comment was addressed to the Chief Minister. This case was also published by Dainik Jagran. District Magistrate Amethi said in a report sent to the government that Shukla's Facebook post was based on incorrect facts. His act is a violation of the UP Government Employee Conduct Rules. The image of the administration was tarnished after the post went viral on social media. In both cases, there was a disciplinary inquiry against Shukla. In both cases, the government was not satisfied with their reply and their defects were proven to be correct.

At the same time, during the deployment on deputation in Noida-based Gail, PCM officer of SDM rank Ashok Kumar Lal had demanded a bribe of Rs five lakh in lieu of compensation of Rs 44 lakh for the land of a tenant. The CBI caught him red-handed taking a bribe at his residence. CBI recovered Rs 19 lakh in cash and some documents related to investment in properties and bank accounts from their residential premises. He was suspended since then. A few more corruption cases were exposed against him. The disciplinary investigation also proved him guilty.
