Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold a press conference later this afternoon. Kejriwal can make an announcement on whether or not to increase the odd-even scheme. On November 15, Kejriwal said that after repeated requests, neighboring states of Punjab and Haryana have not taken any step to stop burning stubble.
He said that the Delhi government is doing whatever is possible to stop pollution. After waiting for two days, the government will take a decision in this regard.
However, the air quality in Delhi improved significantly over the weekend and was categorized as 'poor'. The improvement from 'severe plus' came on the back of strong winds that helped in dissipating particulate matter. While the air quality has improved, there is not much reason to rejoice as the Delhi AQI is expected to deteriorate to the lower end of the 'very poor' category on Thursday as the surface winds begin to weaken.
