The Citizenship Amendment Bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha, now it is the turn of the Rajya Sabha. Such information is being received from sources quoting that this bill may be introduced in Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The central government has started preparing to pass it in the Rajya Sabha as well. The BJP has now issued a whip for its party's Rajya Sabha MPs on December 10 and 11, after the bill was approved in Parliament on Monday with 311 votes. From this, it is being speculated that today all efforts will be made to get this bill passed in Rajya Sabha.

Home Minister Amit Shah will present the Arms Amendment Bill in Rajya Sabha today. By the way, it is also being said that the Citizens Amendment Bill can also be introduced in the Rajya Sabha today. This bill has been passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday.

The student organization AASU is protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Bill in Dibrugarh, Assam. The student organization has called a 12-hour shutdown here. Due to this, shops are not open here and tires are seen on the roads.

The Citizenship Amendment Bill was approved in the Lok Sabha on Monday with 311 votes. After the passage of this bill, the path of citizenship in India is being prepared for non-Muslim refugees coming from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. From the introduction of the bill to the passage of it, the BJP and its allies as well as some non-NDA parties passed it with a large majority amidst fierce opposition from the opposition.

The 11-year mandatory requirement for citizenship has been scrapped to six years. That is, till the elections in 2021, West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, the number of non-Muslim voters who have been living in India for years, will be increased in many states. According to unconfirmed sources, it is believed that at present there are about two crore people who have settled in different states. Keep in mind that the North East states have been exempted from the Citizenship Amendment Bill. These rules will not apply there and in such a situation the fear of any movement against the BJP is over. This will be applicable in other places except some parts of Assam. In such a situation, Assam and West Bengal, Odisha would be the most suitable for the refugees coming from Bangladesh. Whereas for refugees coming from Pakistan and Afghanistan, the whole of Central India is including Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana.
