Chirag Paswan was removed as party president of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in an "emergency meeting" of rebel MPs on Tuesday. Meanwhile, LJP leaders have announced the appointment of Suraj Bhan as the new working president until a new president is elected in a national executive meeting expected soon. Earlier, Chirag himself had offered to step down as the national president, but he offered to appoint his mother Reena Paswan as the new national president. The rebel group in LJP has also announced to conduct the election of a new national president within five days. Suraj Bhan declared as the new election officer.

5 LJP MPs met Lok Sabha speaker on June 13:

The series of dramatic action in LJP had started on Sunday. Five MPs — Pashupati Kumar Paras (Hajipur), Choudhary Mehboob Ali Qaisar (Khagaria), Chandan Kumar (Nawada), Veena Devi (Vaishali) and Prince Raj (Samastipur) —have met the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Pashupati Kumar Paras, younger brother of late leader Ram Vilas Paswan elected as the new leader of the LJP parliamentary party.

Meanwhile, Hajipur MP Paras said, "It was everyone's desire that after 2014, we go with the NDA coalition. It was late Ram Vilas Paswan ji's final wish that the poor in the country.
