Punjab's new Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as the Chief Minister on Monday. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and OP Soni also took oath as Deputy CM with him. For the first time in Punjab, 2 Deputy CMs have been made. Being humiliated and forced to give up the chief minister's chair, Captain Amarinder Singh did not attend the swearing-in ceremony. After this, the captain called Channi for lunch. According to sources, Channi spoke of coming late citing meetings. After which it was decided that this meeting could take place tomorrow.

Earlier, the swearing-in ceremony was to be held at 11 am, but there was a delay of 22 minutes in the wait for Rahul Gandhi. After this, the swearing-in was started. Rahul Gandhi then reached Raj Bhavan. After Charanjit Channi became the CM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and congratulated him. PM Modi said that he will continue to work with the Punjab government for the betterment of the people of Punjab.

He has taken over the charge of the Chief Minister's Office

Charanjit Channi has now become the first Dalit Chief Minister in the history of Punjab. After taking an oath, he has taken over the charge of the Chief Minister's Office. At the same time, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa from the Jatt Sikh community and OP Soni as a Hindu leader have been made Deputy CM. Earlier the name of Brahm Mohindra was announced in place of Soni. Mohindra is from the Captain Group, so his card was cut at the last minute. Channi managed to get the CM's chair with the support of Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu. The chair fell vacant after the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh.

After taking an oath of Charanjit Channi, now all eyes are on his cabinet. Channi was till now the Minister of Technical Education. After becoming the Chief Minister, which ministry will he have now? What will be the responsibility of two deputy CMs? The biggest question is who will become the minister now and whose card will be cut from among the ministers of the Captain Government. However, Congress has played the Dalit card after Channi became CM. In such a situation, the return of Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has become difficult. He is accused of scams in the post-matric scholarship of Dalit students.

Congress's Masterstroke

Assembly elections are going to be held in Punjab after 5 months. In such a situation, it is being considered as a masterstroke of Congress to cultivate the Dalit vote bank. Punjab has a 32% Dalit population. 34 out of 117 seats are reserved. On the other hand, Channi may be a Dalit leader but belongs to the Sikh community. In this sense, Congress can get a big political advantage from it. Especially, the dominance of the Congress can increase in the Doaba area of Punjab, which is called Dalit Land.

Hindu vote bank always goes with the BJP

By making Hindu leader OP Soni Deputy CM, Congress has also tried to reach the Hindu vote bank. This is important because the Hindu vote bank always goes with the BJP. However, given the personal image of the Captain, Congress has been getting the benefit of it. Now Captain CM has left the chair, so there is an attempt to maintain that vote bank through Sony.

Sukhjinder Randhawa has been made Deputy CM so that the Jatt Sikh community should not be angry. Till now this community has been giving CM faces to Punjab. This vote bank is believed to be of Akali Dal. However, in 2017 on the issue of sacrilege, it splintered towards the Aam Aadmi Party. Randhawa can be given a strong profile if the cabinet is formed. Through this, your share in the Jatt Sikh vote bank will be ensured

New challenge for opponents

The promises made by the opponents in Punjab after the elections were fulfilled by Congress only now. When BJP called Dalit CM, Congress made Charanjit Channi. Akali Dal had talked about making one Hindu and one Dalit as Deputy CM. So congress broke it too by making Hindu and Jatt Sikh Deputy CM. Now a new challenge has arisen in front of the opponents to form the government in Punjab. Now on the issue of caste polarization, Congress has the right answer for him.
