The vaccine is even more important in the era of the delta variant currently spreading. The CDC studied 43,127 infected patients in Los Angeles and California. These patients were admitted to the hospital between May 1 and July 25. Research says, usually, patients are admitted to the hospital within 14 days of corona infection.

Hospitalization cases increased in June

Cases of hospitalization in Los Angeles and California increased in people who had not received the vaccine. Dr. Rochelle Valensky, director of the CDC, says that statistics show that if you do not get the vaccine, you can also fall into the category of people who are at high risk of infection. Understand how effective the vaccine is

How important the vaccine is, the answer is given by data from Public Health England (PHE). Pfizer's vaccine and AstraZeneca (CoviShield in India) have been found to be 96% effective in preventing hospitalization for those who have received both doses. PHE estimates that the vaccination program has succeeded in preventing 22 million infections in England.

It can also be said that the vaccine has saved 52,600 hospitalizations and 35,200 to 60 thousand deaths. PHE hospitalization data between June 21 and July 19 says that 1,788 people were hospitalized after infection with the delta variant. Of these, 970 (54.3%) were not vaccinated. At the same time, 530 (29.6%) had received both doses of the vaccine.
