Sumit Chauhan, the third accused who burst crackers and made casteist remarks outside the house of team member and star player Vandana Kataria after the Indian women's hockey team lost to Argentina in the Tokyo Olympics, has also been arrested by the police.
The accused had abused Vandana's family and used caste-speech words. Vandana's brother had filed a case against the three accused. On Saturday, the absconding third accused Sumit Chauhan resident of Navodaya Nagar Sidkul was arrested by the police, and further legal action was taken.

After the defeat of the Indian team, firecrackers were burst outside Vandana's house in joy. When Vandana's family members protested against this, the youths used caste words by indecently doing them.
On the complaint of the relatives, the police had taken one of the accused into custody on Wednesday itself. After this, a Tahrir was given on behalf of Vandana's brother Chandrashekhar Kataria. The Sidkul police station had registered a case against the accused Sumit Chauhan, Ankur, Vijaypal resident of Roshanabad. It is alleged that these youths took off their clothes and danced in a way of celebrating happiness. The police arrested Vijaypal and Ankur and sent them to jail.
Vandana Kataria's brother Chandrashekhar Kataria had told the police that accused Vijaypal had a rivalry with him. Due to this, she used caste words while bursting firecrackers in front of their house after the Indian women's hockey team lost in the Olympics.
Chandrashekhar Kataria had said in the Tahrir that due to this act of the accused, the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste society and the family have been hurt. Along with this, there is huge anger in the region and the country. Therefore, a case should be registered against the accused under the sections of sedition.
Vandana's brother Chandrashekhar's Tahrir has been booked under section 504 (humiliating / abusing any person) and section 3 (1) (s) i.e. for using caste words for a person belonging to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe. has gone.
