The latest case is related to the consumption of alcohol and treatment of Covid-19. It is being claimed that alcohol may provide protection from corona infection. But Dr. KK Talwar, head of Punjab's expert committee set up on Covid-19, denied it on Wednesday.
He instructed people to avoid the rumors going on on social media. He said that drinking more alcohol can reduce the immunity of people and this increases their risk of getting infected. "I read that drinking alcohol can provide protection against the virus," Talwar told social media. He cautioned people that such a misconception can cause problems. If people start drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, then their risk of getting infected will increase.
He described the news of Corona's death from alcohol as baseless. However, he definitely said that drinking very small amounts of alcohol is not harmful. Talwar cited scientific supervision as saying that it is recommended that people refrain from using alcohol for two days before and two days after the vaccination of Covid-19 against Corona. Significantly, four lakh people have been infected by the corona virus in Punjab.
