On Thursday, the World Badminton Federation (BWF) has decided to cancel Hyderabad Open Badminton Tournament, to be held in Hyderabad, India from 11 to 16 August due to the ever-increasing cases of COVID-19. The BWF and the Badminton Association of India have agreed to cancel the Hyderabad Open 2020 (11 to 16 August), a Super 100 tournament of the BWF Tour. The tournament was part of the revised BWF calendar that was created to restore the game after the tournament was canceled since March due to an epidemic.

Not only this, the Indian Junior International Grand Prix 2020 to be held in Pune has also been canceled. The tournament was to be held from 4 to 9 August. BWF General Secretary Thomas Lund said that the situation in some countries is changing. Accordingly, necessary information will be given about the upcoming tournament.
