A green checkmark now appears in the verified WhatsApp channel. WhatsApp is now going to change it to a blue checkmark like social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and X. According to the report, this feature will soon be rolled out for everyone.
The company had globally rolled out the WhatsApp channel on 13 September 2023. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of WhatsApp's parent company Meta, had given information about this. Till now, through this feature, many verified people and businesses including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Cricket Team have created accounts in the WhatsApp channel.
You cannot send messages as a follower of a WhatsApp channel. However, you can react through emoji. You can also view the total number of responses. Which emoji you are reacting with is not visible to the channel's followers.
The company is bringing improved interface with new icons and colors in WhatsApp for Android users. This feature is being tested in beta version 126.96.36.199.
Through this update, the area which is currently visible in green color at the top of WhatsApp will appear in white color. However, in dark theme it will appear in dark color only. The same interface is already visible in the app on iOS devices.
The company is bringing a new update in the About Us status of the app. Till now, once anything is updated in the status of About Us, the same status remains visible until the user changes it.
Now WhatsApp is bringing the option to choose time limit, in which you can choose minimum 24 hours and maximum 2 weeks. The About Us status will automatically be removed after the chosen period of time. The company is testing this feature in Android beta version 188.8.131.52. Soon this feature will be rolled out for everyone.
