On the second day of the trading week i.e. Tuesday, there was a great rally in the market. Sensex touched a record level of 57,625 and Nifty touched 17,153 points and finally Sensex climbed 662 points to 57,552 and Nifty climbed 201 points to close at 17,132. Earlier, the Sensex opened at 56,995.15 and the Nifty opened at 16,947.
There was a lot of shopping in the market. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 26 stocks were bought, while 4 stocks fell. In which Bharti Airtel shares closed at 662 with a gain of 6.99%. Shares of Bajaj Finance closed with a gain of 4.99%. On the other hand, Nestle India's stock fell 1.29%.
3,341 shares were traded on the BSE. In which 1,569 shares gained and 1,626 shares closed in the red mark. With this, the total market cap of companies listed on BSE has crossed Rs 249.98 lakh crore for the first time. Earlier on Monday, the Sensex climbed 765 points to 56,890 and the Nifty climbed 226 points to close at 16,931.
During trading on the BSE, 203 shares were seen trading at a 52-week high and 21 stocks at a 52-week low. Apart from this, while 311 shares have the upper circuit, 220 shares have a lower circuit.
The market was supported by IT and metal stocks. The IT index on the NSE closed with a gain of 1.35%. On the other hand, the metal index closed with a gain of 1.54%.
Earlier, the US stock market Dow Jones closed at 35,399 with a weakness of 0.16%. The Nasdaq gained 0.90% to 15,265 and the S&P 500 0.43% to 4,528.
