Petrol prices have increased for the fifth consecutive day between US and Iran tensions. Crude oil prices are increasing due to this tension. On Monday, petrol prices have increased by 15-16 paise and diesel by 17-19 paise.

After the rise in crude oil in the international market, there is no possibility of getting relief from the inflation of petrol and diesel at present and the prices may increase further in the next day.

New Rate List

According to the website of Indian Oil, the price of petrol has now gone up to Rs 75.69 in Delhi, Rs 78.28 in Kolkata, Rs 81.28 in Mumbai and Rs 78.64 in Chennai. At the same time, the price of diesel has been increased to Rs 68.68 in Delhi, Rs 71.04 in Kolkata, Rs 72.02 in Mumbai and Rs 72.58 per liter in Chennai.

Significantly, the US has launched an airstrike at Baghdad Airport last week. Due to this attack, the price of crude oil has increased by 4 percent.

Oil marketing companies on Friday increased the price of petrol by 10 paise in Delhi, seven paise in Kolkata and Mumbai and eight paisa per liter in Chennai. At the same time, the price of diesel was increased by 15 paise in Delhi, 12 paise in Kolkata, 13 paise in Mumbai and 14 paise per liter in Chennai.

Tension between US and Iran increased

In fact, the US has killed the top commander of Iran's Al Quds Force, Major General Qasim Suleimani, by air strike at Baghdadi Airport in Iraq on Friday morning. Besides Suleimani, Iraqi militia commander now Mahdi al-Muhandis was also killed in the attack.
