Electric vehicle company Ola Electric today launched its cheapest electric scooter S1X at the Customer Day event. The company has launched it at an introductory price of Rs 80,000. Apart from this, Ola also unveiled four electric bikes, which will be launched in the next year i.e. 2024. Ola has introduced a total of 8 product and software updates in this event.

Ola S1X launched in three variants

The Ola S1X is powered by a 6kW hub-mounted electric motor, which is offered in a choice of 2KWh and 3KWh battery packs. It gets a range of 151 km. This scooter can accelerate at a maximum speed of 90 kilometers per hour. The S1X scooter is not much different in design from the company's two existing products.

It will get smiley-shaped dual-pod headlight, indicator-mounted front apron, flat footboard with rubberized mat and LED taillamps. A 7-inch TFT touchscreen instrument cluster is also provided. The 2KWh variant of the S1X scooter costs Rs 79,999.

Updated version of Ola S1 Pro launched

The updated version of Ola S1 Pro has been launched by the company at a price of ₹ 1,47,499. The company has increased the performance and range of the scooter. The company has claimed that this scooter will now give a range of 195 km on a full charge, which was earlier 181 km.

It has an 11 kW motor which is connected to a 4 kwh battery. This scooter can hold a speed of 0 to 40 km in 2.6 seconds and its top speed is 120 kmph. The company will start the delivery of the scooter from September 2023.

Unveil Four Electric Bikes

The company has also showcased its 4 electric bikes Roadster, Adventure, Supersports and a Cruiser. These bikes will be launched by next year. Ola bikes will be equipped with the latest features and a powerful battery pack will also be added to it. In a single charge, these bikes will be able to cover a distance of up to 200 kilometers.

MoveOS 4 software updated

The company has also updated the MoveOS 4 software for its electric vehicles. Now Ola Map will be available in the company's electric scooters. With this, features like location sharing and find my scooter will be available through the app. The scooter will now also get concert mode along with party mode.

In concert mode, the lights and music will be synced between multiple Ola electric scooters at the same time. Party mode is available in the current generation S1 electric scooter. In this, light sync function has been given with the songs playing in the scooter.

Why the name of the event 'End Ice Age'?

The end of the Ice Age meant the end of the internal combustion engine (ICE) era. ICE is used in petrol-diesel vehicles. Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has already mentioned the title of the event. Recently, during livestreaming on X, he had said- 'Do not buy ICE, Buy electric'.

Ola's electric scooter rivals

Ola has entered the budget segment by launching the S1X electric scooter for less than Rs 1 lakh. This scooter will compete with electric scooters from Pure EV, Hero Electric, Okinawa, Okaya and Joy in the segment. While the S1 Pro second generation electric scooter will compete with TVS iQube, Ather 450X and Hero Vida.
