More than 1 Lakh Crore GST collection for the Third Consecutive Month

The Department of Finance informed on Friday that the collection of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in the month of September stood at Rs 1.17 lakh crore. The Finance Department said this was the third consecutive month that the collection had exceeded one lakh crore rupees. According to data collected, September 2021's revenue collection is 23 percent higher than that collected in September last year.

In a statement, the Finance Ministry said, "The total Gross GST revenue collected in September 2021 is Rs 1,17,010 crore, CGST Rs 20,578 crore, SGST Rs 26,767 crore, IGST Rs 60,911 crore (29,555 collected on import of goods) and the cess is Rs 8,754 crore (including Rs 623 crore deposited on import of goods).

Revenue from domestic transactions

Let us tell you that CGST stands for Central Goods and Services Tax and SGST stands for State Goods and Services Tax. Whereas the full form of IGST is Integrated Goods and Services Tax. If we talk about the revenue from import of goods in the month of September was 30 percent higher. In addition, revenue from domestic transactions (including import of services) was up 23 percent over the month of September last year.

GST collection in September

The Goods and Services Tax collection in June 2021 was less than one lakh crore rupees but after that in July, August, and September, the GST collection was more than one lakh crore rupees. Looking at the GST collection in the last three months, which was 92,849 thousand in June 2021, 1,16 lakh crores in July, and 1.12 lakh crores in August. However, the first day of October brought good news to the government in this matter. Let us know that in September, this collection increased to Rs 1.17 lakh crore.

GST collection in states

The Ministry of Finance announced that in the month of September, the GST collection in Delhi was 3,605 crore, Uttar Pradesh 5,692 crore, and Jammu and Kashmir 377 crore. If we talk about Himachal Pradesh, the GST collection stood at 680 crores.
