Oil marketing companies have once again increased the prices of 19-kilogram commercial gas cylinders, delivering a blow of inflation for the second consecutive month.
After adding Rs 14 on Budget Day, February 1, 2024, the prices of cylinders have now been raised by Rs 25.50. Revised rates have been issued on the IOCL website, effective from today, March 1, 2024.
According to the new rates, commercial cylinders in the capital city Delhi will be available at Rs 1795, while in Kolkata, the cylinder now costs Rs 1911. In Mumbai, the price of commercial cylinders has increased to Rs 1749, and in Chennai, it has reached Rs 1960.50.
While commercial gas cylinder prices have been on the rise for the past two months, there was some relief at the start of the year 2024, specifically on January 1st.
On January 1, 2024, companies provided slight relief in the prices of 19-kilogram cylinders. Oil marketing companies had reduced the price of 19-kilogram commercial gas cylinders.
Following this reduction, the price of the first commercial gas cylinder from Delhi to Mumbai became cheaper by Rs 1.50 to Rs 4.50.
While there has been an increase in the prices of commercial gas cylinders, the prices of domestic gas cylinders have remained stable.
In Delhi, the price of a 14.2-kilogram kitchen gas cylinder is Rs 903, in Kolkata it is Rs 929, in Mumbai, it is Rs 902.50, and in Chennai, it is Rs 918.50. The prices of domestic gas cylinders have been stable for a long time.
