Last Day ITR Filed, Cyber Attack Failed for 2205 Times on Website

According to the CBDT, there has been a 41 percent increase in the number of people filing returns on the last day this year as compared to last year.

According to the Income Tax Department, record income tax returns were filed on the last day. According to the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), on August 314929121 people filed ITRs. Whereas on the last day last year, a total of 34,95,093 people had filed returns.

According to the CBDT, there has been a 41 percent increase in the number of people filing returns on the last day this year as compared to last year. At the same time, 1,47,82,95 people filed their ITRs in the last 5 days. Whereas 1,04,35,096 people filed their income tax returns in the last 5 days of last year. In this way, 42 percent people filed more ITRs in the last 5 days of this year compared to last year, which is a big achievement.

According to the board, on August 31, 196 ITRs were filled per second. Similarly, 7447 ITRs per minute and three lakh 85 thousand 571 ITRs per hour were filled in busy time. According to CBDT, on the last day, an unsuccessful attempt was made to disrupt the e-filing website about 2205 times from cyber attack.

According to the CBDT, 5 crore 65 lakh eight thousand 183 ITRs have been filled for the 2019-20 assessment year, which is four per cent higher than the 5 crore 42 lakh 21 thousand 378 ITRs last year for the 2018-19 assessment year. At the same time, 32 lakh 20 thousand 305 income tax returns were filed through the form, which is 7 percent more than the 30 lakh five thousand 100 last year.
