Reliance Jio's True-5G service has started from Dussehra i.e. today (October 5). This service has been started in 4 cities of the country, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi. Right now this service is on invitation, that is, only a select few customers from the existing Jio users have been invited to use this service.
Along with this, users will also get a welcome offer, under which users will get speed up to 1Gbps and unlimited 5G data. Invited users will experience the Jio True 5G service and based on their experiences, the company will launch the detailed 5G service.
It will completely transform sectors like education, healthcare, agriculture, skill development, small, medium, and large enterprises, IoT, smart homes, and gaming and will have a direct impact on 140 crore Indians. On this occasion, Akash Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm said, “On the call of our Prime Minister, Jio has prepared the plan for the fastest 5G roll-out for a large country like India. Jio 5G will be a true 5G and we believe that India deserves nothing less than TRUE-5G. Jio 5G will be the world's most advanced 5G network, built by Indians, for Indians.
Akash Ambani further said, '5G cannot be a service that is available to a few privileged people or only to big cities. It should be available to every citizen, every household, and every business across India. Only then can we bring about a fundamental change in productivity, earnings, and standard of living across our economy.
This is a stand-alone network i.e. this advanced 5G network has nothing to do with the 4G network. While other operators are trying to launch 4G-based networks. Jio's True 5G will get the direct benefit of this. It has great features like low latency, massive machine-to-machine communication, 5G voice, edge computing, and network slicing.
700 MHz, 3500 MHz, and 26 GHz, the largest and most suitable mix of 5G spectrum bands, give Jio True 5G an edge over other operators. Second and most importantly, Jio is the only operator to have a 700 MHz low-band spectrum. It provides good indoor coverage. In Europe, the US, and the UK, this band is considered the premium band for 5G.
An advanced technology called carrier aggregation creates a robust "data highway" across 5G frequencies. Which is a great package of coverage, capacity, quality, and cost-effectiveness for the users.
