Honda Cars India has announced the unveiling of its new car for the global market including India on June 6, 2023 in New Delhi. This will be the company's first mid-size SUV in the Indian market.
In this segment, this car will compete with cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kushaq and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyrider.
According to media reports, Honda Cars in India registered this car in 2021 under the name Elevate. It is expected that the car will come in the Indian market with the same name. The price of this SUV can be between 12 to 19 lakh rupees and its sale is expected to start in the month of August. After this the company will start selling it in the international market.
The Honda Elevate has been spotted several times on Indian roads during testing. The car has been designed on the platform of the company's popular sedan 5th Generation Honda City. Its length can be between 4.2 to 4.3 meters. The new Honda SUV will see design elements of the company's CR-V and HR-V sold in the global market.
It will come with a large front grille, flanked by sharp LED daytime running lamps, a long bonnet and LED headlamps. There will be an HR-V-like side profile with an upright stance and tapered roofline. With this, 16-inch SUV multi-spoke alloy wheels can be seen.
The interior of the Honda Elevate SUV is yet to be revealed, but the recent spy shots show a large digital display that will act as the central touchscreen for the infotainment system. It is also expected that the driver display in the car will also be digital.
The Elevate SUV is expected to get a 1.5-litre 4 cylinder petrol engine. This engine comes in the new generation Honda City. In the city, this engine generates power of around 120 BHP. Whereas, the power output in the upcoming SUV is expected to be around 110 BHP. Honda is expected to introduce a hybrid engine in its lineup. This engine can be given in the higher variant of Elevate.
