Google CEO Sundar Pichai told his employees in an email on Wednesday that the company was considering other options to cut costs. He said the company is currently planning to invest in areas such as data centers and marketing. This investment will be done in a strategic area.
A Google spokesperson confirmed that the company would maintain hiring speed in 'a small number of strategic areas'. He said that many people have been hired but they have not yet started working. At the end of 2019, 118899 people got full-time jobs.
