
Billionaire Elon Musk has announced the launch of Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform 'TruthGPT'. Through this, Musk will compete with OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Bard.
In an interview with Fox News, Musk criticized OpenAI, accusing it of training AI to lie. He said that OpenAI has now become a 'closed source' platform only for profit.
Also, Musk accused Google co-founder Larry Page of not taking AI safety seriously.
Elon Musk had hinted about bringing TruthGPT 2 months ago on February 17, 2023. He tweeted, "What we need is TruthGPT."
In the interview, Elon Musk said, "I am going to start something which I call TruthGPT or Maximum Truth Searching AI. It will try to understand the nature of the Universe. TruthGPT will not pose any threat to humans." He said that after the launch, TruthGPT will provide another new option apart from Google and OpenAI platform.
Elon Musk called his platform safe but he also believes that AI has the potential to destroy civilization. He said, 'AI is more dangerous than any bad aircraft design and bad car production. Also, AI also has the ability to do civilization destruction.
Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, which was established in the year 2015. However, he left the company along with his stake in 2018. Musk told that he had left OpenAI to focus on Tesla and SpaceX. Apart from this, he did not even agree with some things of the OpenAI team.
According to the state filing, Elon Musk has registered a company named X.AI corp in Nevada, USA last month. Musk is the only listed director in this company. Jared Birchell, director of Musk's family office, has been named company secretary.
