Tesla and SpaceX CEO and Twitter owner Elon Musk announced Wednesday the launch of a new AI company with the goal of "understanding the true nature of the universe." The name of this company is XAI. According to the company's website, Musk and his team will share more information related to this in a live Twitter space chat on Friday.
According to the company website, xAI's team includes people who have worked at DeepMind, OpenAI, Google Research, Microsoft Research and Tesla. These team members have worked on projects such as DeepMind's Alphacode and OpenAI's GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 chatbots. The new company will work closely with Musk's X (Twitter), Tesla and other companies.
Musk has also been a part of a major AI organization before. He was the co-founder of OpenAI in 2015. However, he left in 2018 to avoid conflict of interest with Tesla.
