What did the civil aviation minister say?
Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that "if the pace of corona virus infection remains 'predictable', then a decision can be taken as to when to open international flights in July". Significantly, all domestic and international flights were stopped in the country from the lockdown issued from 25 March. But after two months, domestic airlines started on 25 May. International flights are still closed.
According to news agency PTI, Puri said, "I am often asked the question when will you start international flights. If you leave it to me, everything is fine and the corona virus infection is according to our estimates, then I think we can take a decision about it next month". The Civil Aviation Ministry cannot take this decision. The government will take this decision after reviewing the situation in the country.
In a webinar organized by GMR Group, Hardeep Singh Puri said, 'We recently saw that we had opened things up, but a big state of South India re-imposed lockdown. This is also happening in many other countries. We are trying to ensure that this does not happen".
Significantly, the Tamil Nadu government has recently decided to impose a 12-day strict lockdown in Chennai. The state government took this decision because of increasing cases of corona virus.
Corona cases are increasing day by day
Significantly, Corona continues to wreak havoc in the country. The number of patients has crossed 3 lakh 50 thousand. More than 10 thousand people have died due to this deadly disease, while more than 1 lakh 87 thousand people have been cured. According to the data of the World meter, the total corona patients in the country are 3 lakh 54 thousand 161. However, this figure has not been released by the government.
Puri said that the central government is trying to open the international flight in an orderly manner so that there is no scope of any danger or loss. States will also have to be prepared for international travelers to come to the country. We are in constant touch with them.
