In the budget of the financial year 2022-23, the government has cheated the salaried class and middle class of the country by not giving them any relief. Opposition leaders have reacted to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's presentation of the Union Budget.
Congress party's chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala tweeted, India's salaried class and middle class were expecting relief in this era of the epidemic, all-round cut in salary and backbreaking inflation, but the Finance Minister and Prime Minister once again expressed their direct views. These sections have been greatly disappointed by the tax-related steps. Surjewala alleged that this is a betrayal of the salaried class and the middle class.
Randeep Surjewala also asked the government whether the government has legalized cryptocurrency without bringing a bill by taxing the income from the cryptocurrency? It is worth noting that the government has announced a 30 percent tax on income from cryptocurrency and if crypto is received as a gift, then it will be taxed.
On the other hand, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has termed the budget as very disappointing and worse than expected. He said that it seems that there is nothing in this budget. This is a surprisingly disappointing budget. When you hear the speech, there is no mention of MGNREGA, Defence, any other important priorities before the public.
Shashi Tharoor said that we are facing terrible inflation and there is no tax relief for the middle class in this inflationary era. This is a budget that seems to push the mirage of good days even further away. Now India is talking about 100 years i.e. we will have to wait for 25 more years for good days to come.
At the same time, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has tweeted that there is nothing in the budget of the Modi government. Rahul Gandhi has tweeted that this is a zero-sum budget of the Modi government in which there is nothing for a common man. Also, he said that there is nothing for the salaried, middle class, poor and deprived, youth, farmers and MSMEs.
