(January 22), PM Narendra Modi announced the launch of 'Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana' as soon as he returned to Delhi from the consecration program of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. Under this scheme, the central government will install rooftop solar systems on one crore houses across the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given this information on his social media handle He said in his post, 'All the devotees of the world always get energy from the light of Suryavanshi Lord Shri Ram. On the auspicious occasion of the consecration of life in Ayodhya, my resolve has been further strengthened that the people of India should have their own solar roof top system on the roof of their houses.

After returning from Ayodhya, the first decision I have taken is that our government will launch Pradhan Mantri Suryoday Yojana with the target of installing rooftop solar on one crore houses. This will not only reduce the electricity bill of the poor and middle class, but will also make India self-reliant in the energy sector.

Rooftop solar will be installed on the homes of economically weak people

Under this scheme, the government will install rooftop solar on the homes of economically weaker people. This will not only fulfill their own electricity needs but will also enable them to earn by selling extra electricity. With the announcement of the scheme, PM Modi talked about connecting a large number of people through the campaign.

Cost of installing solar panels

The cost of producing electricity from solar panels depends on the module and inverter of the panel. The cost of installing 1 kilowatt solar panel ranges from Rs 45 to 85 thousand. Apart from this, there will be battery cost. Similarly, installing a 5 kilowatt solar panel can cost Rs 2.25 to 3.25 lakh. However, if you look at the cost of electricity bill, your bill will become zero after 5-6 years, because the entire cost will be recovered in 5-6 years.

Benefits of solar panel system

  1. With the help of solar panel system, electricity can be produced at home.

  2. It is cheaper and convenient as compared to electricity obtained from the power grid.

  3. No separate space is required for solar panel, it can be hung on the roof.

  4. The government gives subsidy for solar panels, which makes it easy to buy.

  5. The life of solar panel is 25 years, no repair or maintenance is required.

  6. It has to be cleaned from time to time, so that sunlight falls properly on the panel.

  7. There is no pollution, reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and environmental protection.
