The facelift version of Audi's Q8 e-tron has been launched in the global market including India. The German luxury car maker has updated the battery pack and electric motor to enhance the performance of both the standard and Sportback coupe variants of the SUV. Along with this, cosmetic changes have also been made in the design.
The company claims that the Q8 e-tron can run 600 km on a full charge and can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 5.6 seconds. Its starting price is Rs 1.13 crore, which goes up to Rs 1.30 crore in the top variant. Following the discontinuation of the Mercedes-Benz EQC in India, the Q8 e-tron will compete with the Jaguar I-Pace, with a price range between Rs 1.20 to 1.24 crore (ex-showroom).
The company has started booking the upcoming electric car. Buyers can book the car through the official website as well as at the company's dealership by paying Rs 5 lakh. The Q8 e-tron will be imported as a Complete Build Unit (CBU).
The updated Q8 e-tron made its global debut in November last year. In India, this electric car has been introduced in Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and Sportback body type. With this, two trim options 50 and 55 are available.
At its front, new design has been given a dual-tone trapezoidal grille, new 2D logo, new design front bumper and updated LED headlamps. At the same time, the connected LED taillights and bumper have been updated at the rear. The blacked-out B-pillar of the new Q8 e-tron gets 'AUDI' and 'Q8 e-tron quattro' badging, giving it a premium touch. New 20-inch alloy wheels have been given in the electric SUV.
According to Audi, two electric motors have been given to improve the performance of the Q8 e-tron, which gives equal power to all four wheels. The SUV and Sport Back variants of the Q8 e-tron 50 have a 95kWh battery pack, which together generates 340hp power and 664Nm torque. The company claims that both the variants can accelerate from 0 to 100 Kmph in 6 seconds.
The SUV and Sport Back variants of the Q8 e-tron 55 have a 114kWh battery pack, which together generates 408hp power and 664Nm torque. The company claims that both the variants can accelerate from 0 to 100 Kmph in 5.6 seconds.
The Audi Q8 e-tron is equipped with a 22kW AC charger. It also supports 170kW DC fast charging. The Q8 e-tron can be charged from 0 to 100% in about 6 hours with the AC charger. At the same time, the DC fast charger can charge the car from 10 to 80% in just 31 minutes. The Q8 e-tron gets charging ports on both sides. To keep the luggage in the car, 569 liters of boot space is available.
