British luxury sports car brand Aston Martin has unveiled the DB12 Volante, a convertible version of the DB12 Coupe. It is the most powerful V8 convertible Grandtourer (GT) car from the company.
Aston Martin claims that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds. When launched, this car will compete with the Ferrari Roma Spyder and the Bentley Continental GT Convertible.
The price of Aston Martin DB12 Coupe is Rs 4.8 crore (ex-showroom). The DB12 Volante convertible is expected to cost more than this. If media reports are to be believed then the production of the car will start soon and its delivery may start by the end of 2023.
The new Aston Martin DB12 Volante is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing 672 hp and 800 Nm of torque. This engine has been taken from Mercedes AMG.
For transmission, the engine is tuned with an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. With this, three driving modes are available - GT, Sport and Sport +. The top speed of the car is 325 kmph. The suspension of the car has been stiffened up to 140% for comfort riding.
The exterior design of the new Volante carries its Coupe Edition elements. It gets an 8-layer soft top instead of a hard roof, which is capable of opening in 14 seconds and closing in 16 seconds at a speed of
The soft top can be operated with the key from within a range of 2 meters of the car. This soft top is available with Red, Blue, Standard Black and Black and Silver color options. Apart from this, many color options are available for the body and interior with the car. The weight of the car has increased by 111 kg due to the stiffening of the soft top and chassis.
The new Aston Martin DB12 Volante gets a new infotainment system with a 10.25 touchscreen, which comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Apart from this, many hi-tech features are available in the car with 15-speaker sound setup.
