Alert Will Be Received On Smartphone Before Earthquake, 'Android Earthquake Alert System' Will Detect Vibration
Search engine Google is going to launch 'Android Earthquake Alert System' in India to detect earthquakes. This system will detect the vibration of an earthquake and send a warning alert on the Android smartphone even before it occurs. Along with this, it will also give information about the intensity of the earthquake and its center.
Google has introduced this alert system with the consent of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and the National Seismology Center (NSC). This system will start working in a few weeks. The company has given information about its launch on Wednesday through a blog.
This system of Google works with the help of small accelerometer present in Android smartphone which works like a mini seismometer (vibration measuring machine) on vibration.
Earthquake alert system will work like this
This system works on the vibration of the smartphone which is charging. If shocks (vibrations) are felt on many smartphones charging in the same area at the same time, Google's servers predict the occurrence of an earthquake. After this, it sends an alert about the center of the earthquake and its intensity to all the nearby smartphones.
Google said, 'Internet signals travel at the speed of light, which is much faster than earthquake tremors. Therefore, the alert often reaches the phone several seconds before a serious shock occurs. This system is already working in many countries.

Yes, all Android phone users will get its alert since Android 5 OS. iPhone users can get earthquake information after turning on the emergency alert setting in their phones. If you want, you can also turn off the alert.
