Adani Group is going to spend Rs 60,000 crore in airport business. Adani Group will spend this expenditure on city side infrastructure along with runway, taxiway, aircraft parking stand and terminal in the next 10 years.
This information has been given by Karan Adani, CEO of Adani Ports and SEZ. Adani Group has said that Rs 30,000 crore is to be invested in the airport terminal and runway capacity in the next 5 years and Rs 30,000 crore is to be invested in the next 10 years for city side development.
This investment will be in addition to the Rs 18,000 crore spent on the development of the first phase of Navi Mumbai Airport. It is expected to be operational by March 2025. Including this investment, Adani Group will spend a total of Rs 78,000 crore for airport development.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adani Airport Holding, Arun Bansal has said that Adani Enterprises Limited is going to arrange this fund from internal sources.
Bansal has said that we are building a new terminal in Guwahati and are also planning to build a new terminal in Ahmedabad. Navi Mumbai Airport will become operational with 2 crore annual passengers by the beginning of next year.
At the same time, in the year 2021, the company acquired Mumbai Airport and Navi Mumbai Airport from JVK Group, these are currently in the construction phase. Their capacity currently is 10 crore to 11 crore passengers. The group is focusing on increasing its capacity to 25 to 30 crore passengers in the next 16 years i.e. by 2040.
