Twitter has closed 2 out of 3 offices in India on Friday. These two offices are from Delhi and Mumbai. The social media platform's office in Bengaluru will continue to operate as usual. Bloomberg News has published a report regarding this. It was told that when the employees reached the office, they were sent home. According to a CNBC report, there are only 3 employees left in Twitter's Indian team.

In November, Musk fired 90% (about 200) of his staff in India. Elon Musk is continuously cutting costs to improve Twitter's financial health. Along with retrenchment of employees, they are also closing their offices across the world.

All three employees will work from home

According to the report, one of the three employees left in Twitter's India team is the country lead. Of the other two, one is responsible for the North and East and one for the South and West region. All these will be on work from home. At the same time, those employees who report directly to the US office and are not part of the India team will work in the Bangalore office.

Musk wants to strengthen Twitter financially by the end of 2023. They have also modified some services like Blue subscription to increase revenue. The monthly subscription of this service in India is Rs 650.

Musk said on layoffs – we have no option

After the layoffs last year, Musk had a tweet- 'When the company is losing $ 4 million a day, we have no choice but to remove employees. Those who have been evicted have been given 3 months severance, which is 50% more than the statutory amount.

CEO Parag Agarwal was fired first

Elon Musk bought Twitter on 27 October 2022 for $44 billion. After this, Musk had fired four top officials of the company. These include CEO Parag Agarwal, finance chief Ned Segal, legal executives Vijaya Gadde and Sean Edgett. This was followed by Chief Marketing Officer Leslie Berland, Chief Customer Officer Sarah Persnet and Vice President of Global Client Solutions Jean-Philippe Maheu.

Musk looking for new CEO

Recently, through a video call at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk said that making sure the platform can work well is the most important thing for him. “I feel there is a need to stabilize the organization and ensure that it is financially sound,” he said. Regarding Twitter's new CEO, Musk said, "Hopefully by the end of this year we will get our new CEO."
